Cynthia Abulafia

Cynthia Abulafia

Cynthia Abulafia is an author, educator, and yoga therapist rooted in a Shakta–Tantra lineage, devoted to reclaiming the body as an essential site of spiritual wisdom. Her work centers on undoing what she names “transcendence bias” in patriarchal spirituality—the tendency to privilege disembodiment, hierarchy, and abstraction over lived, relational experience. Drawing from non-dual sacred texts, subtle body anatomy, movement science, and trauma-informed practice, Cynthia offers accessible tools for integrating spiritual insight into everyday life. Her upcoming book, Embodying the Goddess, weaves ancient wisdom with contemporary somatic understanding, guiding seekers back into agency, resilience, and embodied presence—especially those navigating religious trauma or life beyond rigid traditions. Cynthia’s teaching blends breathwork, movement, ritual, and contemplative inquiry, creating bridges between philosophy and practice. She is particularly passionate about supporting individuals and communities who feel “in-between” belief systems, helping them cultivate spiritual imagination, grounded integration, and a renewed relationship with the sacred through the body.
